• In haired regions, areas of alopecia may be seen, and the hairs become brittle Tinea capitis infection: Symptoms are irregular or well-demarcated scaly areas of erythema and alopecia spread on the skin. Dry alopecic patches with minimal infection and sometimes dark dots are also seen. Tinea corporis infection: Pink to erythematous or scaly lesions with slightly elevated and/or sharp margin, erythematous edge and central clearing are seen.
